Jun Hu is a partner of Fangda Partners in its Beijing Office. Mr. Hu specializes in M&A, private equity investment and fund formation, general corporate, banking, insurance, project finance, securities offerings, and foreign direct investment. Mr. Hu has practiced with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae as an associate, and leading PRC law firms including King & Wood, Jingtian & Gongcheng and Han Yi Law Offices for about twelve years both as a U.S. and a PRC practitioner. Representative clients of Mr. Hu include Daimler Benz, Scotiabank, Chrysler, Johnson & Johnson, Intel, CSFB, UBS, Morgan Stanley, CICC, Silverlake, Blackstone, KKR, Carlyle, Hellman & Friedman, Chalco, Baidu and Reuters. Mr. Hu has good working relationship and constructive network of contacts with various governmental authorities, having served as expert for authorities such as the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Mr. Hu has also regularly provided pro bono legal services by serving as legal counsel for various entities, including (i) the leading PRC charity fund, China Social Entrepreneur Foundation (which has been very active in the quasi-governmental rescue and charity efforts in the quake-struck Sichuan Province), (ii) Chinese Financial Executive Institute, the leading professional organization with the CFOs of overseas listed companies and pre-IPO companies involving PRC interests as its members, and (iii) Harvard Club of Beijing. Mr. Hu has science and law degrees from Beijing University (LL.B. 1996 and B.S. 1995) and Duke University (J.D. 1999). Mr. Hu also studied for one year at Cornell Law School during the academic year of 1998-1999 as a visiting student.
